Grad students: A thesis comparing Twitter to Orwell’s Newspeak would be derivative, valid, obvious, sophmoric, dead-on, and an easy A!

Starbucks eats this cost for you, laptop user
There are 5 laptops plugged in right now in this SBUX I am in. Let’s say and average of two per store are running all the time. 85 Watts of power x 12 hrs. x 365 days. Divide that by 1000 for the KwHours and you have 372. x the national average of .12 per KwH and you get $44.67 per laptop cost per year. With my (conservative!) 2 users per SBUX, and 9000 locations (there are 11,000 but I took away two thousand for good measure because there are a lot of small locations with no room for seating.)
that’s $89.35 x 9000
$804,168 a year Starbucks eats in laptop power costs.
Wow, that’s a high cost for a free service.
But worth it!
By my calculations, these laptop users alone spend $165,564,000 a year at Starbucks.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.. 12th birthday?
Whoa.

A fine drink with a strong kick and an intriguing history….
